DESIGN FOR EDUCATION CHARRETTE
RIBA
The Design for Education Charrette day was conceived as an opportunity for schools all across the UK to have the opportunity to work with a selection of their students and stakeholders and a young architectural practice, coming up with ideas to answer a design brief that the school had set. Fifteen schools participated from all over the country and we selected fifteen architects to work with these schools. During the day a number of invited professionals from across the industry circulated offering advice on each project from their perspective. The results - hand sketches, diagrams and quick physical models - were then presented in an exhibition or ‘pin-up’ setting, to be viewed by a panel of judges. The day concluded with a drinks reception for all involved plus selected invited guests and each of the panel members will gave a short speech and awarded prizes for exemplary work.
