'A Garden Party To Make A Difference' is an imaginative part of The Prince of Wales's 'Start' initiative launched in February. Initiated by the Prince of Wales, the event run in London in the grounds of St. James Palace and the Mall from 8-19 Sept 2010. The aim was to raise the profile of the START initiative, which aims to inspire people to live more sustainable lives. 'Because it's Our Future' is a display of sustainability best practice within education. Six schools from around the country worked with six invited architects/designers to each create an eco-pavilion each receiving a funding of £1000 and support from Willmott Dixon in the construction of the pavilion at the StartLondon event. Surface to Air Architects were coordinating the architects/designers and the design brief, in cooperation with RIBA. Within the tight budget constraint of £1000 Surface to Air designed a pavilion for South Camden Community School, which are closely working together with the Charity Global Generation, who hold events with the school inside and outside the pavilion throughout the event engaging with the visitors.
