EAST OF ENGLAND SPA HOTEL

The design of the spa hotel actively contributes to visitors’ wellbeing through the sculpting of light through the facades and screens, with spaces crafted to respond to the activities within and to the scale of the body. The main spa volume is conceived as a contemporary filigree light box, reminiscent of Victorian lattice ironwork traditional Grand Pier designs - theatrical cut out screens with applied decoration. The hotel and residences are conceived as a series of animated folded planes which respond to the craggy extremes of the natural landscape around.
