Surface to Air is an architectural practice directed by Holly Porter and Pascale Scheurer, which offers design quality, unique client interaction skills and excellent project delivery.
Surface to Air Architects were featured on the cover of Building Magazine in 2006 and were recently invited to exhibit as one of 27 practices representing the best new architectural design talent in the UK. Surface to Air are currently working on a range of projects from 250K to 200 Million. Their clients include Slough, Croydon and Camden Borough Councils, RichMix Cultural Foundation, Butterfly TV and The Royal Society of Arts.
The founding Directors of Surface to Air Architects, Holly Porter and Pascale Scheurer, met at Cambridge University and set up practice after several years working on high profile, successful projects for award-winning Wilkinson Eyre Architects and KPF.

Founding Director of Surface to Air Architects, Holly studied architecture at Cambridge University
(BA Hons, MA) and the Royal College of Art (MA). Her architectural projects include work at all
scales from houses, schools, mixed-use developments, residential, to masterplanning between
budgets of 100k and 400 million. She has worked in the UK, Amsterdam and New York.
Before founding Surface to Air, she was a Senior Designer at KPF for 4 years. As well as being
passionate about design, Holly enjoys communicating architecture to the wider public and
does so through her lectures, articles and role within the RIBA. She chairs the Young Practitioners
Panel of the Royal Institute of British Architects and hosts industry events to promote equality and
diversity within the architectural profession. She lives and works in London.

Founding Director of Surface to Air Architects, Pascale studied architecture at Cambridge University
(BA Hons, MA) and at Oxford Brookes University (DipArch with Distinction). She also holds an MSc
with Distinction in Development Practice. A Chartered Architect with a passion about the ethics of
practice, Pascale was formerly Project Architect and Head of Sustainability at Wilkinson Eyre
Architects. She has worked on projects in both the public and private sectors, for clients such as
the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, the DfES and Land Securities PLC. She represents young architects
on the Council of the Royal Institute of British Architects, is a non-executive Director of the RIBA
Trust, and sits on their Building Futures Advisory Board. She lives and works in London.
